We had to program the cars to move around the obstacle course. We needed to think about forward, back, left and right. We also had to think about how far the car needed to move. If our sequence wasn't quite right we checked each step and debugged the program.
We used the Lightbot app to program sequences of moves. At first it was quite simple but it quickly became more challenging as we had to think about turns, jumps and lighting more than one square. We learnt how to debug our programs if the sequence was not quite right.
Today we sorted statements about 3D shapes into true or false. Then we made up our own statements about the shapes and our friends had to say if they were true or false.
We worked in teams to sort pictures of different animals into the correct habitat.
We then talked about how each animal was adapted to their habitat. We talked about the things we thought plants needed to grow. Then we set up a number of fair tests to see if we were right. We are testing soil and no soil, water and no water, light and no light. We kept our tests fair by using the same pots and putting in the same amount of seeds.
