We all had a fantastic time visiting Souter Lighthouse today. We were given a tour of the lighthouse and were able to climb the steep stairs to the very top. We saw how the lighthouse keeper would have lived and learned all about the lighthouse itself. After the lighthouse, we went to the beach. Some of us built sandcastles while others explored the rocks looking for sea creatures. Luckily, the rain held off so we could enjoy our time on the beach.
We worked together to create this 3D island using different materials including mod roc.
Where do you think the treasure might be? No shipwrecked classroom would be complete without a ship! The newest addition to Class 7's room is a pirate ship full of our very own pirates. How many can you spot?
This week we finished our pirate hats. We had looked at the different features of pirate hats such as skull and crossbones, feathers and jewels. We planned our hats then created them using card. I think we look ready to sail the seven seas!
This week Year 2 were shipwrecked on a desert island! We made pirate hats and rafts. We made shelters to keep us out of the sun. We even climbed the rigging on the ship. We used sticks to make SOS messages on the beach.
