We enjoyed our visit to the railway museum where we found out about steam engines and explored the cab of a locomotive. We handled artefacts linked to the railways such as hats, whistles, signal flags, lights, hooters and pocket watches.

We carried out an investigation to find out about the absorbency of different materials. To keep the test fair we kept each piece of material the same size. We also added the same amount of water to each material. We discovered that the kitchen paper was the most absorbent.
To introduce our new topic 'Superheroes' we dressed up as famous people from history and had a parade. There were many different people represented including scientists, sports people and various different kings and queens.
We started with individual poses then worked in pairs. Finally we worked together as a class digging for treasure on an island!
Mr. Mitchell visited our school to tell us about RNLI as RNLI is Year 2's chosen charity for Charity Week. We really enjoyed his visit and we learned a great deal about RNLI.
On Friday, Kevin Wadsworth, who works for The Met. Office, came to talk to us about the weather in different parts of the world.
