This morning the whole school got together to do a fun run, all in the aid of charity. A group of girls from year 6 decided that they would like to raise money for a number of charities and, as a result, organised this fantastic event! Well done to everyone who took part!
Learning to attack and defend. You need to have accurate throwing skills and watch the ball carefully to catch it safely and score points.
This morning Class 6 and 7 got together to take part in our Virtual Olympics. We all had a go at the speed jump challenge, the standing jump and the 60m sprint. Not only did we do the challenges, but we were all involved in measuring distances and times! We've had a fantastic morning!
Today we had the unique experience of making smoothies using a smoothie bike. This fantastic invention is a peddle powered blender! We had the chance to try lots of different fruit like watermelon, peach and pineapple. They were delicious!
Unfortunately, heavy rain meant that sports day was cancelled outside. However, that didn't stop Year 2 from having a fantastic time in the junior hall. Both classes got together for a series of relay events including skipping, dribbling and even a chicken race! At the end we even raised team spirit with our very own team chants! We'll done to Yellow Team who were our Year 2 winners!
Today we took part in the sponsored penalty shootout as part of the Community Sports North East challenge. We each had the chance to kick the ball into the inflatable goal and it measured the speed of the kick.
We all had a fantastic time visiting Souter Lighthouse today. We were given a tour of the lighthouse and were able to climb the steep stairs to the very top. We saw how the lighthouse keeper would have lived and learned all about the lighthouse itself. After the lighthouse, we went to the beach. Some of us built sandcastles while others explored the rocks looking for sea creatures. Luckily, the rain held off so we could enjoy our time on the beach.
